I drove 8 hours to Kiel Germany to take a massive cruise ship to Oslo. During the drive I learned that driving in Germany is pretty scary when everyone passes you at 170 Kilometers in a snow storm. When you try to keep up with traffic you still get a speeding ticket and the hit song on the radio over here is “Somebody That I Use to Know” Goyte featuring Kimbra. It will be my Euro theme song :-)
Once I got here I spent most of my time at the World Snowboard Champs. The girls rode really well as did the guys. And it was amazing to watch the Quarter Pipe Finals live!
Lisa Wiik let me stay at her place. It was so nice to not be in a hotel. Thank you Lisa for an amazing time and cooking me great food! I needed it!!!
I also feel 100x’s better. The Physio’s here are GREAT! I am really excited to fly home soon. I have to wait just a little longer for the radiation to leave my body before they can give me another CT scan. But I already booked my flight home for the 5th of March.
So let the journey continue!
I flew to Austria on the 30th of January for a Roxy Photo Shoot then to be followed by the Roxy Pro. On the 1st of February I was a bit too excited to snowboard and had a freak accident where I landed myself in the Hospital for a few days. I’ve had a hard time understanding what was wrong with me, but with a very kind US Dr who is a German Native, explained to me my diagnosis. Basically, I have a Hematoma in my lung and I can not leave Europe until it is gone!!!! As of now my goal is to be healthy enough to leave by the 5th of March. But Wikipedia told me today that Pulmonary Hematoma’s take the longest to heal. Once the rough sea’s settle down (Mid-March) Cruise ships will start going to NYC from Europe. (YES, I have already looked into that option) So starting today I am going to enjoy the rest of my time in Europe and I want to share my journey. I am in Munich and will be driving up To Kiel, Germany tomorrow so I can catch a Ferry To Oslo and watch my friends compete in the World Champs. Cheers!
